Today we talk about Waylon Jones, best known as Killer Croc, who was born a scaly man and had to make due with life, and sometimes that's by wrestling and sometimes that by doing crime.

What we were up to this week:
-Briar went to a pumpkin patch, kept reading Robin Hobb novels, continued working on their Halloween costume, and read about 6 pages of DC KO (2025) #1
-Olivia read the first 3 volumes of Something is Killing the Children and has been enjoying the new Critical Role campaign

#398 – Oswald Cobblepot

Penguin

Today we talk about Oswald Cobblepot, best known as the Penguin, who rides the fine line between Batman rogue and Gotham crime boss by being mostly an organized crime guy but he's got a funky gimmick.

What we were up to this week:

  • Briar continued working on Halloween costume and reading Robin Hobb novels, and also agonized over the Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage event Wither this Path of Thorns
  • Olivia kept an eye on NYCC news such as the Mighty Nein trailer and the Wonderman trailer and also went to see the Oh Hellos

The Riddler

Today we talk about Edward Nygma, best known as the Riddler, whose whole thing is--you guessed it!--riddles.

  • Briar quotes in the episode this scene from Batman: The Movie (1966), but otherwise has been reading more Robin Hobb books and sewing their Halloween costume
  • Olivia summarizes this tumblr post during the episode, but has also read Batman (2025) #2

Today we talk about Traci Thirteen, which is her real name, who uses magic despite her dad hating magic, and mostly uses her magic to help the people of Metropolis and the Superfamily at large.

What we were up to this week:

  • Briar finished Supermanime (My Adventures with Superman) Season 1 and read a lot of fanfiction (not necessarily set in the supermanime) instead of any comics
  • Olivia continued to read Imperial (2025), and is trying to keep up with the current Giant-size X-Men event
  • Olivia shows Briar the Luciano Vecchio variant cover for Wiccan: Witch's Road #1 and it IMMEDIATELY went onto the cosplans list....

#390 – Natasha Irons

Steel/Starlight/Vaporlock

Today we talk about Natasha Irons, best known as Steel though she's had a couple other codenames as she's gained and lost superpowers, who basically apprentices under her uncle before becoming a hero in her own right when he retires.

What we were up to this week:

  • Briar picked up some comics but instead read more Les Mis, Farseer Trilogy, Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage visual novel, and watched Sinners. And started playing Sky Cards, a game where you catch planes like pokemon based off of real-time flight data.
  • Olivia picked up some comics from New England's oldest comic book store, which lives in a basement and has super cool and knowledgeable staff.
